OK...so I wrote a LOT in my journal that I kept over my trip- which was AWESOME So I think I'm gonna break it down.

Where I was: At the Calvary chapel in New Orleans. It's on top of a printing company and next to a map-making business, but it really is a charming little place >D.

Who I met: Pastor Kevin, his four ADORABLE KIDS, Other members of the Genter family, Pastor Randy and Cathy, and other members of the church down there.

What we did: Mostly we were going down there sorta blind XD; We knew we wanted to go and be a blessing to the church and surrounding community, and spread the Hope- that we hadn't forgotten about New Orleans and God hadn't either. Our team of 23 passed out invites to the church in a few neighborhoods, but mostly we got down and dirty working. The guys completely fixed up Pastor Randy's church, and we primed/painted their house, and landscaped their yard. Then at Pastor Kevin's church we repainted the stairway, fixed up the garden in the front of the complex, and tried to keep it clean 8D;. The last day we primed the entire house of this separated family, so now hopefully they can all move in again It was hard work- What the mosquitoes didn't bite off me, the fire ants did.

But God really showed me some areas in my heart that needed work- mostly that my heart's become rather callus: driving around town, there were sections that were STILL looking like a bomb hit, and then a random, brand new store with maybe three cars in front of it. Even when we watched some home video of the storm, I felt bad yeah, but not like I should have. The first few days, I did want to work hard for the Lord, and I did, but instead of having a heart for the people I was helping, my heart was kinda nowhere. I didn't grudge it, and I know it wasn't just a task that needed to be done, but God really challenged to me to really have Christ's heart, and to have THAT fuel what I did, not that I think I should, or to do it to make God happy.

The last three days were the best for me, cause I finally got it. I'm really thankful that I went, because it really helped my grow, but the people down there blessed us just as much as we blessed them.

haha yeah sorry this is kinda skimpy, but it this journal would be HUGE if I wrote all that I did in my journal




I'm a little nervous, as my first day of college is this Monday, but I'm excited to see what God has in store >D I'm going to try my scanner again today- cause I have some new stuff that I want to share
